As a motor dealership lucky enough to have two of the 300 Bugatti Veyron coupes ever built, we naturally have a keen interest in news of the current Grand Sport convertible. Production of this open top car is set at just 150 units and Bugatti want to shock the world once again when it launches its new special edition version. This will come with more options and colour combinations with a price of 1.4 million Euros.
This new car is intended for the Middle East and is said to be the world's fastest convertible. It is currently on show at the 2012 Qatar Motor Show in Doha.
Finished in a bold, two tone colour combination. The lower section of the body is lacquered black and the upper part is finished in bright yellow. Its colour design continues in the cockpit with its seats and dashboard wrapped in yellow leather. The center console has been finished in black, with black contrast stitching on the dashboard.
Bugatti say the Grand Sport is "the fastest, most powerful and most luxurious open top car in the world". The top speed is unchanged from the regular Grand Sport's 252mph as is the W16 turbo layout giving 1001bhp output.
The Grand Sport 16.4 convertible will be hand-built at Molsheim, each one tailored to the customer's preference from a large array of colours and options. It has been reported that 45 of the 150 cars have been sold and that prices for the remaining 105 start at 1.4 million Euros.
The Veyron has become a true legend in the Motor World and its production is approaching the end of the line. With a top speed of over 250mph, this landmark car is the greatest expression of technical superiority.
If yellow and black is not your favorite color combination perhaps you will find our coupe example with a Blue exterior more to your liking. Having covered only 871 kilometers and finished in perhaps the most desirable color combination, it seems tremendous value at £849,950.
