After massive success with the C class range, Mercedes and AMG have launched a new facelift model. Taking inspiration from the SL63 AMG, the C63 has a new front, a single-bar grille, and new headlights with LED indicators.
The interior has also seen changes, the new dashboard has a revised instrument layout and piano black trim on centre console. The instrument panel now has a high-definition multi-use screen mounted between the speedometer and tachometer.
The 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG takes its power from the aspirated 6.3-litre (6208cc) V8 engine that develops 451 hp (336 kW / 457 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. On the lower range the C350 offers a 3.5-litre V-6 with an impressive 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet from 3500 to 5250 rpm. The C-Class models are up to 15 percent more efficient than previous models.
Las with the Mercedes C63 the handling of the coupe is sharp and dynamic. All the C class range including the previous model have an Agility Control suspension system, that uses mechanical switches to change suspension tautness and reduce body motion, while still giving the C-Class a well-controlled ride. All C class models are available with both a sports suspension and a Dynamic Handling package for those looking for more sport.
The gear box for the C63 is a seven-speed 'Speed Shift MCT' transmission, this can see the car accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds (4.6 seconds for the estate) and hit a limited top speed of 155 mph.
The optional AMG Performance Package increases output to 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. AMG have improved the car's handling, engineers installed a new steering system, and added a thicker anti-roll bar.
The 2012 C63 AMG will start arriving in July and German pricing starts at €71,340.
