The Mercedes SLK was originally released in 1996 at the Turin motor show. In 2004 they introduced a facelift version with a new aerodynamic body and a 7 speed gearbox. It was also the first time that AMG used its 5.5 litre engine over the previous 3.2 litre version. The SLK55 may be bereft of a supercharger but the 5.5-litre V8 still packs a thumping 355bhp at a bellowing 5750rpm, backed up by 376lb ft at 4000rpm, and only a 4.9sec sprint to 62mph. The SLK55 is both equally adapted for leisurely cruising around the streets just as much as on a clear open road.
The car we have on offer was first registered in 2006 and has only covered 17,820 miles from new. The original owner whom ordered the car equipped it with over £12,000 worth of extras. This included 18” AMG multi-spoke alloys, metallic paint, parktronic, electric seats with memory function, Bluetooth, COMAND with DVD navigation, electric folding mirrors, Bi-Xenon headlights, fire extinguisher, Harmon Kardon sound system, CD changer, heated screen wash system and interior motion sensor. This car has been very well cared for and is in excellent condition and with this low mileage, would be a great investment in a fantastic quick and exciting little car.
