The relationship between Aston Martin and Zagato is one of the most enduring and legendary partnerships in the automotive world. Beginning back in 1960 with the creation of the DB4 GT Zagato, which now fetch upwards of £10 million at auction, every so often these two masters of their crafts come together to create a highly exclusive, limited production run of truly special cars. The latest Aston to be given the ‘Zagato treatment’ is the already stunning 2012 Vanquish and was the 5th Aston Martin to have the Italian coachbuilders design flare sprinkled upon it to create what can only be described as an automotive masterpiece.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato was built in 4 different body styles, coupe, volante and shooting brake which were limited to 99 examples of each, whereas the speedster was limited to just 25 examples. Based on the Vanquish S, the Vanquish Zagato Volante has been thoroughly re-engineered, it’s 6.0L V12 powertrain producing 580 bhp, coupled with its smooth Touchtronic III gearbox and unique suspension setup can deliver a projected 0-62 mph time of 3.5 seconds. This performance creates a unique driving experience to stir the senses. Lightweight hand-rolled aluminium and carbon fibre panels clothe the body, taking over 2000 hours to craft, representing the most dedicated application of Aston Martin’s talents for engineering cutting-edge design.
The car we have on offer today was registered in 2018 and is finished off in a Q department colour of Cairngorm brown with ivory rekona and bitter chocolate leather interior and a bitter chocolate brown hood. The car features a One-77 steering wheel, satin chrome finish, garage door opener, carbon paddle shifts, ventilated front seats, touring pack and embroidered ‘Z’ logo on each of the headrests. This is a one owner car that was ordered and supplied new in the UK and has only covered a mere 365 miles. A small extra addition to accompany this car is a special photobook showing the car being built within Aston Martin.
